Non-Profit Work

In 2016 we began our mission to spread parenting by connection and the tools of Hand in Hand Parenting USA in underprivileged communities across Mumbai. We ran programs in partnership with other non-profits like Yasham, VVFT, Apnishala & VConnect. These programs were aimed at supporting parents in these communities, by giving them a safe & non-judgemental space where they could be heard & accepted. We also taught them tools of listening and how to use these tools in their daily lives. With the feedback received we learned that we were able to truly create a change in the lives of many families. This gave us the motivation we needed to further our mission.

Triyoke, under the banner of Funshala, has been running educational programs for children across age groups, in the slums of Mumbai. We work with 4 communities across 3 centres in South Mumbai - 

Nariyalwadi, Banganga & Mariama Nagar.

Even during the pandemic, our team was able to stay in touch with and continue to support 94% of the families enrolled in our program.

The next step we want to take is to train women in the community to become certified Hand in Hand Parenting Instructors, thereby helping them create new avenues of income for themselves and their families. Not only will this benefit the trainees, but it will also become an asset to the community, as these instructors will be able to teach these tools to families within the framework of their cultural context.
